Serie A Football: Lazio vs. Inter Milan

Lazio braces for a tough match against leaders Inter Milan (7:45 p.m UK Time).

Inter Milan has returned to the top of Serie A a few months ago and somehow found a way to consolidate this position. They can consider themselves lucky to see their main contenders fail miserably over the weekend, but it is now up to them to stay on course. Inter takes on Lazio and this is the perfect time to play against the team from the nation’s capital, as the Romans are mired in a winless streak.

No Serie a Win in 2 Months

Lazio has advanced to the next stage of Europa League and managed to win some incredible games in that competition. On the other hand, they are struggling heavily on the domestic front and the fact that they won the last game in October speaks volumes about their ability to perform. The players are not used to participating in so many competitions and their mission is further complicated by the busy Copa Italia schedule.

Injuries have been a problem for Lazio last season as well and in late 2015 most of the players mending injuries are defenders. This explains why they allowed so many goals and found it impossible to defend narrow margin leads even against mediocre opponents.

Inter Milan Hopes for Another Clean Sheet

The leaders won six out of the last seven games and on all those occasions they managed to prevent opponents from scoring a single goal. It’s an impressive performance even by Italian standards and they’ve got the merit of bolstering their defenses when they needed most.

Napoli managed to score twice against them, but had the advantage of an early elimination for Inter Milan. Lazio can’t rely on a similar advantage though, so it is safe to place a medium-high bet on the home side to prevail at odds of 13/10 with bet365 Sports.
