Skrill Group Acquires Ukash To Extend PaysafecardPublished December 3, 2014 by Vlad G
Major acquisition in the world of prepaid solutions that will benefit online users and business alike.
The online payment processing giant has just become even bigger with the acquisition of well-known UK-based electronic money system Ukash. The details of the deal have not yet been made available to the general public and while there are still some regulatory approvals that need to turn green, everything seems to be on the right track.
With Ukash being added to the Skrill Group, paysafecard will likely grow at an ever faster pace as the most popular prepaid payment in Europe will now gain access to new markets and become available on a whole new scale.
Secure online payment solutions
Paysafecard was launched back in 2000 and it has quickly become one of the most popular ways for customers to get their money online and make payments as easy as using cash. The banking method is accepted throughout a number of industries and this includes online gaming, entertainment websites, shopping outlets and more.
Skrill Group purchased paysafecard last year and made it even easier for consumers to pay for their digital needs on the internet. Now, a new chapter will start being written with the addition of Ukash to the family, a widely used payment method that will significantly help Skrill expand its services across various markets.
Millions of customers
David Sear will take the CEO seat at Skrill Group in January next year and he made a short statement regarding the acquisition of Ukash in which he mentioned that it is a big move and will help the company increase its reach in the prepayment market. He also added that this will help both online businesses and consumers across a combined customer base of millions of users from all over the world.
The CEO of paysafecard Udo Muller and the CEO of Ukash David Hunter also shared some of their excitement for the coming together of large and innovative prepaid technologies.
