NBA All-star Kevin Garnett and BetMGM have entered an agreement that will see the NBA star become a brand ambassador.
BetMGM has a long list of athletes and celebrities that act as brand ambassadors - hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, the NFL’s Marshawn Lynch, MMA personality Ariel Helwani, and movie star Jamie Foxx are just a few examples, but now, NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett has joined the operator in the same capacity.
Under the agreement, Garnett will be featured in BetMGM’s marketing campaigns, numerous special events, relevant social media content, and various sports betting promotions.
One of the Biggest Sports Stars
Over his tenure, Garnett played for three teams—the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics, and the Brooklyn Nets—over 21 NBA seasons. He won the NBA championships with the Celtics in 2008, made the NBA All-Star team 15 times, and was named league Most Valuable Player in 2004.
“I’m thrilled to be working with BetMGM to share their insights with my fans,” commented Garnett. “It’s a natural fit for both myself and BetMGM given our mutual desire to stay on top of the ever-changing sports business landscape.”
Garnett has become familiar with the gaming industry. He recently co-founded Gaming Society, a gaming and content platform that focuses on inclusion and diversity. He has also been featured in numerous NBA video games and the bridge to online sports wagering was more natural.
Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer, BetMGM, commented, “Kevin Garnett brings a unique energy to everything he does, on and off the court. As the basketball season tips off, we look forward to welcoming Kevin to the BetMGM family and working with him on a variety of fan-focused promotions.”
Garnett will fit in perfectly with the existing ambassadors with BetMGM and is one of the most decorated sports celebrities to join the bookmaker.
