The LeoVegas British Blackjack Championship has contestants competing for a whopping prize pool of £18k+ and a chance to win a luxury trip for two to Malta for the championship's live finale. The championship takes off with the qualifying period that commences Monday, June 25 and wraps up Sunday, July 12. The competition is open only for players with a British citizenship.

Cross-platform Competition

During the qualifying period, daily races will be held at LeoVegas Casino, with the player who won the most at blackjack during the day crowned as a stage winner and becoming a candidate to secure a place at the final.

LeoVegas players will be able to compete cross-platform via computer, mobiles and tablet devices – all blackjack variants found on LeoVegas Casino will count towards qualification. LeoVegas will run a designated website which will list the current results every day.

Nine Finalists

Once the qualifying period ends on July 12, the nine best players will be picked out of the daily stage winners, and flown to Malta with a partner where they will take part in the grand live finale which takes place August 8. The finale will take place at the luxurious Casino Portomaso in Malta, decided in the competition form of Elimination Blackjack built of two qualifying heats and a final.

One British Blackjack Champion

All finalists will begin with an even amount of chips, and begin playing hands of blackjack. The player with the fewest chips will be booted out of the competition – this will go on until two players are remaining. At this point, three additional knocked out players will be entered into the game and will win guaranteed prize money – the final heat will be played with three remaining players from the start until one remains to become the British Blackjack Champion.
