Sports Betting Legend on CBS 60 Minutes

What has it been? One week since the 60 Minutes ran an item about the risks and dangers of online gambling? Oh that was a scary one, wasn't it? Well, don't be scared. Lovely Lara Logan will take care of you.

But maybe not as caringly as she has Billy Walters.

Billy Walters is known as the most successful sports betting gambler in the world. He became publicly known in 1986, when he led a team of gamblers (the Computer Group) which won $3.8 million using a roulette system on an old wheel in an Atlantic City casino.

Shifting to Las Vegas sportsbooks, Walters claims a lifelong 57% winning percentage on his sports bets.

With the anti-online gambling item of January 9, 2011, titled "Slot Machines: The Big gamble", still fresh in mind, the CBS News program ran an "Entertainment Video" on a sports betting gambler.

Joining Billy Walters, practically rubbing arms as she stands with him on the grass during a golf game for $5,000, referring to his earnings as "that's a lot of money", and - well, I tired of watching after a few minutes, to be honest - lovely Lara Logan dared not criticize Las Vegas sports betting.

I admire Billy Walters. Let that be said.

And CBS Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Lara Logan is a good looking woman, by all means, and has done some important work in the past. A picture of Logan is in place:

Sometimes I watch 60 Minutes, too. That's a fact.

But why on earth would CBS grill Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell for wanting to legalize online gambling in his state one week, and then shift to an easy-watching, entertainment piece about another gambler the next?
