The operator has shocked the fans with a video of a football pitch suspended 10,000ft above the ground, with six daring content creators playing an actual match in this high-stakes environment.
The summer of 2026 is a huge one for all football fans, with the excitement building with each passing day. As fans are gathering in stadiums and around screens at their homes, local pubs and restaurants,
Stake, one of the biggest
online casino and sportsbook operators, has decided to join the fun in style.
Â
The operator has gathered six extreme sports content creators willing to quite literally rise to the challenge and play a football match on a pitch hanging 10,000ft above the ground. That's the very definition of taking things to a new level, and it is equally as impressive as it is scary to watch.
Â
Football Above the Clouds
Â
To set up this unique stunt, Stake got two massive hot air balloons and attached a small 12m x 20m pitch to them. The balloons then proceeded to lift the pitch off the ground and take it above the clouds, to a height of 10,000ft.
Â
Of course, the balloons and the floating pitch were just one part of the challenge. The second, perhaps a more demanding one, was finding people willing to join this one-of-a-kind match. The operator found willing participants in Alessio Papia, Nicolo Contrada, Nathan Roque, Yasmin Xavier, Carol Chafauzer, and Sara Vidal, six extreme sports content creators who are no strangers to these types of stunts.
Â
The whole thing was filmed for Stake's YouTube channel, showing these six daring creators play a high-stakes match at 10,000ft above the ground, equipped with parachutes. And, at the end of the game, unlike regular football players who head to a locker room, they took a dive off the platform.
Â
Not surprisingly, the video has created a lot of buzz in the online space, especially as it lands during the summer tournament, when the worldwide interest in football is significantly increased. It gives all fans of the game something to talk about and shows that the right combination of creativity and courage can produce impressive results.
Â
Creating Next Generation of Content
Â
The latest video is a part of Stake's wider strategy that aims to create fun and engaging content around major sporting moments. The campaign comes on the heels of the company launching its new All At Stake branding platform.
Â
In the PR accompanying the recent video, Jarrod Febbraio, Director at Stake, said:
Â
This summer sees one of the biggest cultural moments on the planet, and simply showing up is no longer enough. Our ambition is to create campaigns that genuinely capture people's attention, spark conversation, and give fans something they haven't seen before.
Â
The company's strategy is simple at its core, yet very effective. As Febbraio explains, they aim to give fans something they haven't seen before, looking to capture their attention and spark conversation. A football pitch suspended above the clouds, with actual people kicking the ball and scoring goals, certainly hits all of those goalposts.
Â
The daring football match at 10,000ft is the latest in the It's All at
Stake campaign, and, judging by the numbers, it hit the mark. So far, the campaign has attracted over 200 million views across different platforms, bringing the Stake brand in front of even more eyeballs and allowing the operator to continue building its overwhelming presence in the online gambling space.
