Start-Up Launch Pad Finalists Unveiled for EiG 2014

At Excellence in iGaming (EiG) 2014, five candidates will compete in the Start-Up LaunchPad final on October 23. They will have the opportunity to pitch their respective companies to a panel of expert industry judges. A further benefit is that the finalists will also be presenting to a room full of industry professionals. Among the five finalists recently announced include Asylum Labs, Betify, DiscountIF, Fresh8 Gaming, and RiftSino VR.

Dragons Den-Style Competition

EiG 2014 is organised by Clarion Events, who will be hosting their seventh competition when this annual event takes place once more. For this instalment, over 30 entries were made. The nature of this highly competitive event has been compared to the intense nature of Dragon’s Den. Finalists will be required to make their presentations in front of the judges before undertaking a Q&A session. An audience vote using EiG’s advanced mobile app will then determine the eventual winner.

Tough Road for Finalists

Acting as judges during the 2014 competition will be Mark Blandford, Evan Hoff, Ian Hogg, Anthony McAuslan, and Hilary Stewart-Jones. Before reaching the judges, however, the finalists had to make it past Chris North of GamCrowd and Nick Hares of Clarion Events. Both commented in a joint-statement that deciding on the final shortlist had been a “near-impossible task”.

Last Year’s Winner

Back in 2013, Element Software won the competition with Element Wave, a push notification and analytics services developed to function on mobile devices. Speaking about the company’s 2013 victory, Element Software chief executive Dorothy Creaven described the experience as being “very creative and exciting”.

Winner Expectations

In terms of what lies ahead for the eventual winner, that group will set up in the Start-Up Village of EiG and showcase their organisation from the floor of the Berlin Area. EiG will be hosted there from October 21-23, over three days of presentations and networking.
