Sunday Schedules the Final Matches before the Winter Break

Major European leagues prepare for the Xmas hiatus with late afternoon and early evening matches across the continent.
The Italian Serie A and the English Premier League have matches scheduled between Christmas and the New Year’s Eve. Meanwhile, La Liga and Bundesliga take a lengthy break and action will only resume in the second half of January. This means that the matches scheduled on Sunday afternoon are the last to be played in these top European championships in 2018.
Hoffenheim Resume their Surge in the Bundesliga
Hoffenheim have reached the Champions League groups for the first time in club history and they hope to return to the most important continental competition next year. In order to do so, they need to pick up more points and an excellent opportunity presents itself against Mainz. bet365 Sports credits them with an excellent chance to do precisely that, as reflected by the odds of 1/2.
Augsburg and Wolfsburg have lower expectations, but both teams hope to finish in the first half of the tables. They meet on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM UK time in a match that looks like a coin flip. 888 Sport offers identical odds of 8/5 on a straight victory for either team, while a draw is priced at 23/10. Augsburg have home pitch advantage, but have won a single match at home, while Wolfsburg have a better record in the games played on the road.
Sevilla and Valencia Wrap up La Liga in 2018
Sevilla have lost the first place to Barcelona, but they can stay within striking distance if they defeat Leganes on the road. This is a team that traditionally performs much better at home, so it’s no surprise that we get odds as high as 7/5 at Intertops on Sevilla. The hosts are a stringy team that lost a single game in front of its fans so it’s worth considering a double chance bets on Leganes to win or draw at 3/5.
Valencia are slowly returning to form, but they continue to finish many games undecided. They can’t settle for a draw in the match played at home against Huesca, the main candidate for relegation this year. Winner Sports offers odds of 2/5 on the hosts to prevail, in spite of them winning a single match at home in eight attempts. Huesca has just as few victories on the road and the odds of them winning the second match away from home this season stand at 8/1.
