Super Bowl XLVI Betting Odds

With the long National Football League season almost behind us, just one question remains: Can the New England Patriots win Super Bowl XVI, and in doing so extract revenge over the New York Giants for their shock title loss four years ago?

The Patriots just got over the line against the Baltimore Ravens, 23-20, in the AFC Championship final, to secure their place in this year's Super Bowl. To their surprise, the New York Giants upset the San Francsico 49ers, 20-17, at Candlestick Park, to take the NFC Championship and create a dream re-match with their northeastern rivals.

The scenario is similar this year to four years ago. The Patriots finished this season top of the AFC with a 13-3 record, while the Giants went 9-7 to scrape through for a wildcard placing. In 2007-08, New England went 16-0, only to be brought down at the last hurdle by the in-form New York, also a wildcard that time around.

With all this in mind, it is no surprise that New England goes in only an 8/13 William Hill online favorite to win Super Bowl XLVI, while New York is offering tempting odds of 11/8. The Super Bowl will take place February 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, so those wishing to place a wager on the game have plenty of time to do so.
