Super7Plus Loses Malta Gaming License as MGA Intensifies Regulatory Actions

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has recently revoked the license of Super7Plus, an online gambling operator, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The decision to revoke Super7Plus's license comes amidst a broader clampdown by the MGA on operators failing to comply with regulatory standards. This move has raised concerns and questions within the iGaming community as the MGA continues to tighten its oversight.

Super7Plus: Fifth operator to have Malta license canceled this month

Operating under the Malta license, Super7Plus has been directed to halt all activities immediately. This directive, issued on January 17th, forms part of the MGA's ongoing efforts to enforce regulatory compliance among online gambling operators. In addition to ceasing operations, Super7Plus has been instructed to settle all outstanding fees owed to the regulator within five days of the cancellation notice.

Furthermore, the operator is required to allow players to access their accounts to withdraw any remaining funds. Super7Plus must also submit evidence of these refunds to the MGA through transaction reports. Another mandate includes removing all references to the now-canceled Malta license from its websites. The operator has been granted the option to appeal against the decision.

Super7Plus cancellation follows Winners Malta Operations and Genesis Global.

This latest cancellation is part of a broader trend, as the MGA has revoked the licenses of five operators in just two weeks. The reasons behind these decisions have remained mainly undisclosed, as with Super7Plus. This lack of transparency has sparked discussions in the industry about the regulatory environment and the criteria used by the MGA in its enforcement actions.

The MGA also canceled Winners Malta Operations' license earlier in the week. The ruling, effective from January 11th, came with a similar set of compliance steps for the operator to follow post-cancellation. Additionally, the MGA recently canceled Genesis Global's B2C gaming license, which followed an initial suspension in January of the previous year. Genesis Global operated 23 websites under its license, including prominent names like Vegasoo and Genesis Casinos.

The previous week also saw Rush Gaming's license suspension, impacting its Fansbet and Onebet brands. Moreover, Betago's license was revoked, adding to the growing list of operators affected by the MGA's stringent regulatory measures.

This series of cancellations and suspensions by the MGA underscores a heightened regulatory focus within the Malta gaming jurisdiction. It reflects the authority's commitment to upholding high compliance standards and fair practices in the online gambling sector.
