Texans vs Patriots: NFL Live Odds and Preview

It's time to start Week 3 in the 2016/17 NFL Regular Season with a Thursday Night game at 1:25 GMT.

The Patriots are in trouble. Not only are they still without their all-star QB Tom Brady, the team has not added a backup QB for tonight's game. The good thing for New England is that Texans' QB Brock Osweiler has thrown three interceptions in just two games, but they have been able to win their first two games to lead the AFC South. The Patriots have been successful without Brady and are also 2-0, and having the home field advantage tonight will be crucial for their chances at winning.

Protect the Ball

Osweiler must protect the ball. He is working with a new offence including six new starters. There will undoubtedly be some mistakes but luckily the Texans have one of the best Defenses in the league. The Texans must focus on their rush game. The Patriots are an excellent run defense that allows a average of 81 yards per game. The Texans defense is a bit behind in the rush protection at 113 yards per game but both teams are relatively even.

The Patriots are excellent at home, but the Texans are 6-0 against rookie Quarterbacks. Bill Belichick is one of the best coaches in the game and he is not worried about the fact that he is putting a rookie out there against the fierce Texan D. Nobody messes with Belichick at home and this game will surely be won by the Patriots.

Prediction

The game will be a close one but punters can expect the Patriots to win 24-17. They will control the tempo of the game and count on their run to make up for any faults at QB.
