Pattaya may soon be considered the new place for housing casinos and gaming venues as Thailand legislators support a plan to introduce casinos to the area.
Thailand legislators support a plan to introduce gambling venues to the area. However more time is needed before any final decision is made. Last Friday Thai Rak's Thai party's head consultant, Sanoh Thienthong advised decision makers to carry out public trials for the new plan. Sonthaya Khunpleum, the Science Minister believes that Pattaya, a resort like city, is a likely spot to house casinos, saying "Despite the economic slump, tourism industry revenue didn't drop."
"The town is capable of having casinos." Nonetheless, even though the Science Minister was receptive to the new idea, he believes that more examination into the matter needs to be done. Jadet Insawang, the local governor supports the new plan as well, though asked that public view be measured. The governor also noted that if casinos were to be implemented than policies and protective measures along with zoning arrangements would be put into place.
