The 2014 Women in Gaming Awards to Take Place Friday

On this Friday, June 6th, the winners of the 2014 Women in Gaming Awards will be announced in a festive ceremony at the five Star Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, starting at 7pm UK time.

Over 80 finalists composed of women who hold a variety of positions in the land based and iGaming industry, will compete in 14 different award categories including Affiliate Manager of the Year, Excellence in Customer Service, Innovator of the Year and the prestigious Industry Pride of the Year award.

It is common to find women who hold very senior positions in the gaming industry, from team leaders to affiliate managers, customer service and casino managers. The gaming industry defies the statistics showing that the global job market is male dominant in terms of job quality and paychecks.

These statistics are one of the main reasons which brought to the creation of the Women in Gaming awards back in 2010. This year will mark the awards' fifth event, which is supported by many prominent and respectable names in the online gaming industry such as Playtech.

The event aims to achieve two main objectives: The first is the highlighting of the hardest and most skilled female workers in the online and land based gaming industry who come to serve as motivational role models for industry members of both genders. The second objective aims to raise a beacon of light and present a model for imitation to other industries, showing that women can be an integral part of a demanding, competitive and successful industry like the gaming industry. The event also supports good causes such as the UK "Break Through Breast Cancer" charity.
