The Bundesliga Winners Will Be Decided This Saturday Afternoon

Florin P. - May 18, 2019

The final round of this season’s Bundesliga steals the show this Saturday, with Dortmund and Bayern playing with the trophy on the table.

For the first time this season, all the nine Bundesliga matches will be played simultaneously and 2:30 PM UK time. That’s because the winner of the German first division will be determined on Saturday afternoon and Bayern Munich have a clear advantage over Dortmund. The second to last round of the French first division is also played today, several hours apart at 8 PM UK time. There are also a handful of interesting matches scheduled in the Spanish La Liga among Champions League contenders.

Dortmund and Bayern Munich Play Decisive Matches

Bayern Munich have a two-point lead over Dortmund and in theory, could settle for a point against Frankfurt. This would be a risky approach and the reigning champions are likely to go for an outright victory against this season’s revelation. 888 Sport only offers odds of 3/10 on Bayern to win, which accurately reflects the difference of quality between the two teams. Meanwhile, Dortmund has to win on the road against M’Gladbach while chasing a Champions League berth, hence the higher odds of 6/5. On the road, Leverkusen also starts with the first chance and odds of 1/2 against Hertha Berlin in a must-win match.

The Entire Ligue 1 Round Starts at 8 PM UK Time

Two rounds are yet to be played in the French first division, but things are far from being settled at the top and bottom of the championship. PSG has won the trophy and Lille has locked in the second place, but Lyon and St. Etienne are still fighting for the third place. Both are clear favorites in the matches played at home, with Lyon getting odds of 1/4 at bet365 Sports against relegation-threatened Caen, while St. Etienne are priced at 3/5 against Nice. Monaco and Amiens also play a critical match in their quest to avoid relegation, with the hosts starting with the first chance, as reflected by the odds of 7/10.

Getafe, Valencia and Sevilla Chase Elusive Champions League Berth

The configuration of the podium and the names of the relegation teams were decided last round in the La Liga. Three teams are still in the race for a Champions League berth and even though to have home pitch advantage it’s the traveling Valencia that has the best chance. That’s because they play against Valladolid who are still celebrating another year in the first division, so the visitors are priced at 2/5. Getafe and Sevilla are also favorites against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao with odds of 4/5 at Intertops Sportsbook.
