The online casino firm has also stated that the strip poker tournament will help to make up for the fact that the Irish football team missed out on being included in the World Cup this year. Strip poker is not a game that is easily found at many sites.
The firm's decision to attempt to set a new world record for strip poker was made after its recent survey revealed that over 50 percent of online poker players play the game naked. The winner of the prestigious title will receive the Paddy Power Poker golden fig leaves and a holiday for two in one of Europe's premier nudist resorts. In an attempt to boost numbers the firm's Head of Communications has also offered free entry to leading British models and celebrities.
The record of 104 naked poker players was set in 1999 by the Naturist Society of Estonia. The firm hopes that along with beating the record, hundreds of new gambling fans will be tempted to try poker at Paddy Power's site.
