AI technology is successfully improving many industries and changing the game. By integrating it into the online gambling industry, operators have the chance to create a safer and more immersive experience for all.
AI technology is evolving and being incorporated into more and more industries for various uses. Even the online casino industry hasn’t gone untouched by AI, as operators are benefiting from it in a number of areas.
As AI technology is integrated into gambling, it has the potential to enhance the industry's security while promoting market growth. Join us as we delve into AI integration in online casinos and how operators are benefiting from it.
When it comes to just about anything, there is always some concern or criticism of new additions to an already-running system. AI has been developing and improving for the past decade, and in the last few years, there has been a lot of expansion in AI-powered solutions and technology, which directly impacts all types of industries.
One thing that cannot be ignored is the benefits of AI as it is incorporated into the online gambling vertical. It helps rev up the growth of new products, analyse large amounts of data, and identify specific patterns.
This means that iGaming content providers can boost their creative process with AI technology, and online gambling operators can quickly flag fraudulent attempts, scams, and suspicious gaming activity.
One of the top goals of the online gambling industry is to create a safer gaming space that promotes responsible gambling.
During ICE London 2024, Rasmus Kjaergaard, the CEO of Mindway AI, spoke during the 'Navigating the Maze' panel about the use of AI to connect with and support players.
Mindway AI is a scientific-based protection solutions provider that uses AI and human psychology assessments. Kjaergaard says that the main goal of the protection solution is to figure out what gambling behaviour looks like for all individual players. Whether it is average or problematic. The objective is to create a solution that is individualised and provides more accurate protection in terms of gambling behaviour.
On top of that, the aim is to offer better support when it comes to decision-making. Director of Player Protection Systems and Analytics of Entain, Jez White, also spoke during the panel, stating that Entain’s player protection improvements have been massive.
One of the previous problems for the Entain protection system was that it could identify problem gambling behaviour, but it couldn’t pinpoint the exact problem, which made it impossible for them to provide the right kind of assistance to customers.

It has been a long journey of collaboration for Entain as it has continuously looked for ways to enhance its protection system, and while previous attempts have been improving the system, it wasn’t quite yet where it needed to be. Then White met Kjaergaard, who was confident that their model would add to the existing solution. And while not fully believing this to be true, White thought adding the product couldn’t hurt.
The addition of the AI model was amazing as it managed to identify long-term problem gamblers and go even further than that, pointing towards customers who could potentially be experiencing problem gambling. With this new model, it’s possible to point out binge gamblers and look for long-term problem gamblers.
On another occasion, the Chief Executive of GambleAware, Zoe Osmond, stated that the solution could help improve consumers' gaming experience while also having the potential to lead the way for positive change by helping prevent gambling harm and quickly identifying signs of problem gambling.
She calls for a balance where AI is not just a solution meant to improve the gaming experience but also assists in creating a safer gaming environment.
Aside from helping combat fraud and preventing gambling harm, AI can also be used to pinpoint system vulnerabilities. Allowing operators to improve their security measures and better safeguard player information.
You can also not ignore how the combination of AI and blockchain technology is improving transparency and fairness. By combining blockchain technology with AI's analytical capabilities, players can enjoy a secure, transparent gaming environment.
The integration is not just vital to enhancing security but also helps build trust among players, which is integral in the growth of online casinos.

AI technology is very effective in terms of online casino rewards programs. These programs benefit not just players but also online casinos, as they ensure player retention, which is vital in this competitive online gaming industry. AI can elevate rewards programs by customising the rewards based on player gaming activity and preferences.
This means rewards programs will no longer be one size fits all but, instead, be optimised to provide players with the most beneficial experience based on their gaming habits.
How does this work? Casinos use AI to analyse player game choices, wagering patterns, and session times to bring them specific bonuses, free spins, and other rewards tailored to their gaming style, creating a more personal experience for all players.
There are some who love it and others who hate it, but you’ve got to respect its ability to boost the industry and improve different factors of online gambling. AI technology reduces the need for manual labour, which in turn allows iGaming operators to grow sustainably and more efficiently.
It’s clear that AI technology and solutions will become an integral part of the betting industry in the years to come. Already, operators worldwide incorporate AI to assist in uncovering problem gambling patterns and identifying potential gambling harm.
AI will also be a big benefit in expanding online casinos. It can be used for innovations that will enhance immersive gaming experiences. With things like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) powered by AI, the industry can really be transformed.
We’re talking about taking a couple of steps forward in the effort to offer players a more lifelike gaming experience from the comfort of their homes. What more could we want for the future of one of the largest industries in the world?
