The networking opportunities for IR and iGaming stakeholders reaching Tokyo look overwhelmingly fortuitous.
Looking ahead, the dates and schedule have come in for the 2018 Japan Gaming Congress JgC.
Touching down May 10 and11 at Conrad Tokyo of next year, promoter Clarion Gaming has confirmed that Japan’s largest integrated resort IR-focused event expects a strong local as well as key international market representation, with attendees ranging in origin from Las Vegas to Macau to Singapore.
Local Officials Turnout
The local official registry will be enhanced by an increasing array of key Japanese authorities, representing central government as well as many prefectures.
As far as precedents, previous JgC’s have welcomed members of Japan’s Leading Democratic Party (LDP) as well as officials from Hokkaido, Osaka, Wakayama, Nagasaki as well as traditional non-gaming companies including Hakkasan, JP Morgan, KPMG Japan, Goldman Sachs Tokyo, and Ministry of Economy & Finance.
Key Sponsor Support
Supporting what Clarion promises to be a veritable plethora of hot content and disruptive discussion are confirmed key sponsors such as Melco Resorts and Entertainment, Caesars Entertainment, Group Barrière and JCM Global.
New IR Investments
Melco Resorts and Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho couldn’t be more excited, saying the timing couldn’t be better, in light of the contemporary development of “Japanese IRs nearing as an investment reality.
Topics at the 2018 conference are scheduled to include key updates to anticipated legislation for Problem Gaming as well as IR regulation.
Areas of Focus
Other areas of focus at the event are set to include the setting of realistic expectations regarding the impacts of the IR industry on the local communities, including tracks related to business (procurement), non-gaming entertainment amenities, legal, and other timely topics.
Getting the Worm
The early announcement of the third edition of JgC serves to give all prospective attendees the time to prepare, with the further caveat that Early Bird registration is now open. With more specific information forthcoming, the prospects for a wonderful trip promise only to improve.
