The NBA Is Back: Lakers Vs. ClippersPublished July 30, 2020 by Sol FH
The NBA is back on track with games beginning at 23:30 GMT tonight including a battle between the Lakers and the Clippers.
It has been many months since the NBA took to the hardcourt, sidelined by COVID-19. Tonight, after more than four months, the NBA is back in action, albeit behind closed doors. The Battle of Los Angeles, one of the most highly-anticipated games of the season will be one of the most-watched games of the night.
The Clippers will be significantly short-handed tonight, as they announced that both Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell will not be playing, and, Patrick Beverly is still quarantined in his room inside the bubble. Harrell, who was averaging 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game before the season was suspended, needed to leave the NBA Bubble for a personal matter and will need to quarantine for at least 4 days before getting back with the team.
The Lakers had a scare when their all-star Anthony Davis was poked in the eye in a scrimmage by the Orlando Magics' Michael Carter-Williams, but it looks as though he will be cleared to play. The Lakers will be without Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley, but LeBron James and Davis should be able to carry the load.
The game will not be played in California, rather in Orlando, FL. where the NBA Bubble is located. Players are not allowed to leave or enter the bubble without quarantining, and no outside parties are allowed entrance either.
