Tiger Woods Leads US Masters BettingPublished April 6, 2010 by OCR Editor
Woods leads betting, but sports books are offering bets on every scenario.
Some 97 players will compete at this year's US Masters in Augusta Georgia - the smallest field of any of the golf majors - but all attention is on the favorite Tiger Woods - as he completes his comeback following the recent scandal over his infidelity.
Woods, who is currently a 4/1 favorite at Ladbrokes and Paddy Power and 9/2 at William Hill, unsurprisingly dominates the betting options with bookmakers offering bets on all kinds of scenarios.
On the course, fellow American Phil Mickelson (Ladbrokes 10/1, William Hill 12/1, Paddy Power 13/1) and South African Ernie Els (Ladbrokes and William Hill 12/1, Paddy Power 13/1) are second and third favorites to win the tournament.
But it is Woods who will command all the attention.
Paddy Power has already promised that "Tiger won't cheat you," with an offer to refund all losing bets on Tiger Woods to win the Masters, if he leads the tournament at the end of any completed round and fails to win.
William Hill and Ladbrokes have a wide variety of bets on all scenarios involving the 14-time Majors winner, including his finishing position after each rounds, his lowest round, the amount of birdies he hits and whether he hits the ball into the water.
Some other fun bets being offered by UK bookmakers include whether he will kiss an anonymous blonde or whether wife Elin will appear at the Masters to support him.
