Tivoli Casino International Operation Ceases Next Month

Danish-based Tivoli Casino has announced that it is shutting down its international operations, remaining only with its Danish facing site.

The Danish-based Tivoli Casino has announced that it will cease its international Tivolicasino.com operations. In an e-mail communication from Tivoli Casino General Manager Martin Lerby, Tivoli Casino's international com site was announced to cease operating during April 2016; the exact date has yet to be announced but should be communicated in the earliest opportunity. As it reads:

"It is with regret we must inform you that Tivolicasino.com will cease operations during April 2016. The exact date will soon be finalised and communicated to you at the earliest opportunity.

As we are committed to close down in a controlled and professional way, you can be rest assured that you will be paid all affiliate commissions due on your players referred, for the entire time that Tivolicasino.com remains live."

Danish Operation Remains

While Tivoli's international operation ceases, the casino's .dk brand remains untouched and unaffected by the business change. One of Tivoli Casino's strongest drawing points are its affiliation to the world famous Tivoli Gardens amusement park located in the center of Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, having been in operation since 1843. Tivoli Casino's managing company is a subsidiary of the Tivoli amusement park.

2012 saw the launch of Tivoli's Danish facing online casino for players from Denmark, and in June 2014 the brand expanded to offer its services to players worldwide, launching an international site with software from prominent developers such as NetEnt, Microgaming and Play'n GO. As of today, the international Tivoli Casino operates on licenses from the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority.

In a Stock exchange announcement, Tivoli's Commercial Director Elisabeth Miltion Hemmingsen explained: "Tivoli rapidly built up a significant market position for its Danish online casino. It was therefore natural to attempt to extend this Danish success story by establishing an international online casino.  However, Tivoli's international online casino has not achieved the desired results. For instance, the deficit has been larger than expected since the start, and consequently, the international casino will now be closed and instead the resources will be focused on the Danish online casino."
