Tony Parker Signs with Online Poker Site

France and San Antonio Star Parker signs with BetClic online poker room.

Tony Parker, the French star of NBA power club the San Antonio Spurs, has just put the finishing touches on a three-year deal to represent the BetClic online poker room, which operates out of his home country.

BetClic also already counts several other European sporting figures among its clientele, including former French national soccer team player Marcel Desailly and former German international Stefan Efenberg.

BetClic welcomed the signing in a statement, saying that Parker is a great ambassador for their brand.

"Tony represents the strong values of excellence and ethics in sports that we share," the company said. "This new partnership reflects our commitment to continue our development in the sport by adding great champions to our team."

Parker, who was actually born in Belgium to a basketball-playing African-American father and a Dutch model mother, has won three NBA championships with the Spurs, including in 2007, when he was named NBA Finals MVP.

He has represented the French national team at the last five FIBA European Championships, the last four times as its captain.

However, he is just as well-known for his life outside of basketball, where he is married to Eva Longoria, star of hit television show Desperate Housewives, which upped Parker one and have a bingo site named after the show.
