UEFA Champions League: Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid

The ongoing Champions League rivalry between Real Madrid and Dortmund continues tonight, as they go head-to-head in Group H. This will be the fifth time in six seasons that the two are paired together in the same group and Real has come out on top each time. This could be the year that Dortmund finally gets the best of Real, as the latter has been very inconsistent on the domestic stage.

 

In their respective first group stage matches, Dortmund lost a tough one to Tottenham, while Real beat Apoel Nicosia solidly. Real have never been able to beat Dortmund in Germany, which is good news for them, as the match is being played at Signal Iduna Park. In fact, Dortmund has beaten Real thrice at home and drawn three so the chances that Real is finally able to beat them in Germany are slim, but tonight could be the night that they finally win.

 

There are a few key players that will be missing from both teams' lineups tonight. For Real, both Karim Benzema and Marcelo are out. Theo Hernandez and Mateo Kovacic are also out for extended periods. For Dortmund, Marco Reus, Raphael Guerreiro, and Andre Schurrle are all still out. 

 

This will be an intense match as Real is trying to maintain top spot in Group H, and Dortmund is trying to get back into the top of the standings. Although Real has yet to win at Dortmund, expect them to win tonight and take control of the Group. 2-1 for Real would be a good bet to take.
