UEFA Europa League Qualifyer

The first leg of the second qualifying round between Hapoel Be'er Sheva and RNK Split was an action-packed game which featured one of the best free kick goals of the season.  The first leg was won in the last 15 minutes, as RNK Split stole the win from under Be'er Sheva's nose. For tonight's game, Israeli side is back and looking for a big win.

The Europa League is proving to be as exciting as the recent World Cup with teams showing that they are top level contenders for the title of best in Europe. The first game was moved from Israel due to the unfortunate war going on in the country. UEFA could not risk sending players to the country with the current hostilities between Hamas and Israel. The game will take place in Cyprus, giving both teams the benefit of neutral ground.  

Game 1 Highlights

Be'er Sheva started scoring in the 31st minute as Maor Buzaglo, the star forward, put one of the most beautiful free-kick goals of the season into the back of the net. He fired a shot to the top left corner of the net, it found the target head on.  The game was in Be'er Sheva's hands until the 78th minute, when Tomislav Dujmović headed a corner past the goalkeeper.  Be'er Sheva desperately tried to get the ball back in attack position but in minute 86 Be'er Sheva's goaltender committed a foul and gave Mate Bilić a penalty shot which he scored.
