UEFA Europa League Qualifying: Everton vs MFK RuzomberokPublished July 27, 2017 by Sol FH
Wayne Rooney leads his new squad, Everton in the first leg tie against Ruzomberok tonight at 20:05 GMT.
Tonight will be an interesting match in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round, as the Toffees, take on MFK Ruzomberok. It will be the first time that we see Everton's newest star, Wayne Rooney, whom has said that it has been a longtime dream of his to play for Everton in Europe. "The first game back will be an emotional day for me," he related. Everton are favorites to win the first leg, and it will be incredible to see Rooney at Everton, after 13 years at Manchester United.
Rooney was key in United's 2016/17 Europa League championship win, which ultimately gave the Red Devils a berth back into the Champions League, and he is keen on doing the same thing for Everton, when all is said and done. Rooney, together with new arrivals, Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen and Cuco Martina could all be on the pitch against the Slovakian team, and a win for either team over these two legs will mean a berth to the playoff round in August.
This will be the first time in 11 years that Ruzomberok are back in the European spotlight, but if they do not play their best soccer, they will be out before they get started. To reach the third qualifying round, they successfully beat FK Vojvodina and SK Brann, which were not easy matches, but they looked great. The only question is, how good can they really be.
Everton will be without winger Yannick Bolasie and Seamus Coleman, whom are both out due to injuries.
