UEFA Super Cup: Can Real Madrid Beat Sevilla Without Ronaldo and Bale?

The Champions League winners take on Sevilla tonight at 19:45 GMT in the Super Cup Final.

It was only a few weeks ago that Real Madrid hoisted the Champions League trophy over their heads and celebrated another title to their already amazing list of achievements. The team is one of the best in the world and continue to strengthen their roster with the biggest soccer sensations that the world has to offer.

The best strikers, the best in the midfield and the best defenders have helped to make Real Madrid a super power, but even the strongest teams must learn to win without their heroes.

Tonight, Real Madrid will be going up against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup Final in front of a sold out crowd in Trondheim, Norway. Fans would have liked to see a Real Madrid team at full strength but that is just not the case. Cristiano Ronaldo is still out after suffering a leg injury in the 2016 Euro Final, in which his Portugal team beat host nation France.

Gareth Bale will also not be included in tonight's roster, as well as Toni Kroos at midfield after the two have still been placed on extended past-Euro 2016 break. That leaves some big holes to fill and head coach Zinedane Zidane will need to be creative.

Sevilla has made it to the Super Cup Final for three straight years. They have unfortunately lost the previous two championships. They lost to Real Madrid in 2014, and last year they lost to Barcelona 5-4 in Tbilisi. Sevilla is a great team. They beat Liverpool in last season's Europa League Final, but they really want to beat Real tonight.

UEFA Super Cup Betting

The Super Cup is super easy to bet with at bet365 Sports. The UK sports book has posted its pre-match odds and it looks like Real, even without their star players are favored to win at 1.85, while Sevilla is at 4.20. Now Sevilla could win this match and I would think that punters could understand that a small bet on outright winner for Sevilla, combined with live in play bets are the best way to play.Top of Form
