UK Casino Complex Gets a PushPublished January 21, 2006 by OCR Editor
There has been recent discussion about relaxing the laws for gambling in the UK and Tony Blair along with other government officials have come out in favor of a mega casino complex to be built in the near future. Consideration was also given to several websites in the UK but the anti gambling lobby in the UK has been holding the development back.
Blackpool in the UK is being considered for a new Las Vegas style casino gambling complex that may or may not get the go ahead in the UK.
A Casino Advisory Panel has been set up to take a closer look at the legislation and where the site would be constructed in the UK. Large city centers such as Manchester, could have the edge on smaller towns in terms of project management experience because they are in need of the economic growth and they could potentially bring in more players.
The Casino Advisory Commission will make its recommendations on the complex later this year. The Blackpool Council has put a casino proposal forward to help stimulate growth in tourism as well as local economy and employment in that region of the UK. Once a final decision is made it may take several years before the mega complex is completed.
