World No. 1, Rafael Nadal is set to face Russian teenage tennis hopeful, Andrey Rublev in today's second quarterfinal at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Already ranked No. 53 in the world, the 19 year old has had an amazing US Open so far, but his biggest test is ahead of him. A win for Rublev would mean he will meet either Roger Federer or Juan Martín del Potro, dependent on the outcome of their quarterfinal draw tomorrow.
Rublev has stated that he has, "nothing to lose," which could mean he will come out swinging, but there is little he can do if Nadal is in good form. Rafa really dominated his Round of 16 match against Alexandr Dolgopolov and if he has the same kind of match against Rublev, it will be the end of the youngster's US Open run. Nadal was very quick to correct the young Rublev stating that he thought he had everything to lose and even more to gain, as it is the first time for him facing Nadal with the potential of making it to his first-ever semifinal at a major. "Well, of course he’s young, but at the same time, he’s in quarterfinals,’ Nadal said. "He has a chance to be in the semifinals for the first time of his career, and I have been there couple of times."
