USA Battles Germany in Hopes to Advance

No one could write a more dramatic story line for the biggest game of the World Cup on Thursday, June 26th between the USA and Germany.  For the Americans, a win or a draw means they will be advancing from Group G into the knockout stage with fellow group-mates Germany.  The team's have met 9 times in the past with the Germans winning 6 and the US taking 3.  

Talent on Both Sides

The US men's team enjoyed a much deserved win against Ghana and a heartbreaking draw to Portugal which has put them in an interesting, albeit worrisome position for the game today.  Germany has destroyed their competition and even though some say they are not up to form on defense, they are still unbeaten and looking to make it a lossless group stage against the US.

The US has no less than 5 German Americans playing for their side, as well as their coach, ex-German player Jurgen Klinsmann.  The team is focused and as we have seen does have lady luck on their side but they will need a lot more to even have a chance against Ze Germans!

Germany has an unmatched list of talent headlined by Thomas Müller, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Özil, Marco Reus, Toni Kroos, Mario Gotze and Klose. Any team would like even one of those names on their side but Germany has them all.
