Valencia Seeks First Win on the Road Against Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad goes for the 5th straight win over Valencia after the disheartening defeat to Real Madrid (7:45 p.m UK Time).

Last season was one of the worst in recent history for Valencia and many of the appointed managers had to finish their mandate prematurely. The year, the team plays much better and was able to stun some of the top teams in the Spanish first division. Unfortunately for them, they were far less successful against weaker opponents and had to settle for draws on the road.

Fatigue Takes its Toll at Real Sociedad

The hosts won four games in a row and are still clinging to the third spot in La Liga, but they have a hard time maintaining the tempo. The busy schedule took its toll on the roster that lacks real depth and now Real Sociedad is confronted with a wave of injuries. Against Real Madrid they put up quite a fight in the first half, but the visitors were always in control of the game, which was a one-sided affair.

There are now three players certain not to play in this fixture and three more are doubtful, with the majority of these footballers playing offensive roles. Splitting points against Valencia isn’t exactly the kind of scenario they have in mind, so the hosts will have to do the most with the resources they’ve got.

Valencia Plays Better Against Top Teams

Apparently it is not the quality of the roster but the ability to motivate players to give 100% on the pitch every single game. Valencia is traditionally a team that plays much better when confronted with one of the top Spanish teams. Real Sociedad doesn’t quite make the list, but they are justly credited with the first chance by bookmakers.

Real Sociedad is under a lot of pressure to start a new winning streak and remain within striking distance of the leading pack. Under this pressure and with up to six players unfit to play, it is worth taking a leap of faith with Valencia to win or draw at odds of 9/10 with bet365 Sports.
