The birth of Wayne Rooney's son has gossip mags and sportsbooks guessing.
William Hill Sports is known for facilitating betting on sports and entertainment specials, and following the birth of Wayne Rooney's son Klay it has launched more novelty bets on celebrity baby names.
What odds King Klay?
Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney's second child is being offered 1000/1 odds to become Prime Minister of the UK at any stage in his life. Little Klay is quoting 200/1 to play for the England national team, 500/1 to be the youngest ever to do so, and 1000/1 to play alongside brother Kai for England.
Royal betting is all the rage at the moment with Kate and William expecting, so Hill has also offered odds of 10,000/1 that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge follow Rooney's lead and name their first-born Klay. However, as rumors continue to circulate that the baby is a girl, the naming odds are led by Alexandra, Victoria, Elizabeth and Diana.
Other specials
Ever the one for entertaining specials, Hill has also opened markets on Da Vinci Code Dan Brown's new book Inferno topping the best seller lists by the end of June. They are offering 1/2 odds on it selling 1 million copies by end June and 5/1 that it tops 1 million by the end of May.
Brown managed to sell around 230,000 hardback copies of new book within the first week of publication, and he made an estimated $250 million of the Da Vinci Code online. Note that William Hill bets on Brown specials will be settled by official figures supplied by Nielsen books.
