The two main bones of contention are the selection of Katie Waissel over Gamu Nhengu and the inclusion of the fragile 17 year old Cher Lloyd, who despite going viral on YouTube with her audition, had a meltdown and shambolic performance at the Judges' Housesphase.

Interestingly, Paddy Power still offered odds for Gamu Nhengu, even though she hadn't made the final twelve. The bookies were stunned with her dismissal, having previously rated her in their top three. It was speculated that she would be given a lifeline as a 'wildcard' during the Saturday night's show but all that now is likely to end with today's news that her visa is not being renewed and her and her family must return to Zimbabwe.
