The Nevada Gaming Control Board approved the application by American Wagering (which was bought by William Hill earlier this year) to let state residents place sports wagers from their iPhones, it was confirmed this week.
The application is free to download and use, according to American Wagering senior vice-president John English, although he added that customers must open an account before they can place a wager. He said the next phase would be an application for iPads.Mobile and Land-Based Gaming
The iPhone app will enable mobile customers to enjoy compatibility with land-based PT's Sportsbet Live kiosks, the CEO of American Wagering said. Once a customer opens their a wagering account with Leroy's Horse and Sports Place (operating on AW's behalf), there is full integration between PT kiosks and the mobile betting accounts.
American Wagering released their iPhone app less than one month after it obtained the approval of Nevada state gambling regulators to install betting kiosks in 37 PT's pubs, Gold and Sierra Gold taverns in Las Vegas.
