Online gambling operator removes betting and gaming services for Norwegians.
William Hill Online, the operator or one of the world's largest online gambling platforms, has announced that it will withdraw all betting and gaming services for Norwegian residents for the foreseeable future.
Info for Norwegians
Hill suspended all account of all Norway residents on Tuesday January 29, explaining that the decision was taken for "regulatory reasons beyond our control." From now on, it said, local customers will not be able to use their accounts to access the online sportsbook or gaming rooms.
The good news is that all Norwegian customers will be able to check their accounts and withdraw any outstanding balance at any time, unless notified otherwise in the future, just by logging in, selecting "My Account" and then "Withdraw" to request the return of their outstanding balance.
Imminent return?
In this ever changing world of online gambling regulation, nothing ever stays the same for long. And so it is that William Hill has also said that it will apply for a Norwegian gambling license, in order to reverse the situation in which it has had to temporarily pull out of the local online gaming market.
For the time being, online gamblers in Norway are advised to play with legal operators, until that day in the near future when Hill and other offshore operators are able to once again offer their gaming services to the Scandinavian country.
