World No. 3 takes on World No. 13 on Center Court today at Wimbledon at 16:30 GMT.
Roger Federer is back and is playing the best tennis of the last few year's of his career, hoping for yet another win at Tennis' biggest stage. To do so, he will need to beat the hard-hitting, Bulgarian, Grigor Dimitrov to close out the day on Center Court. This will be the sixth meeting of these two players and Federer has been perfect with a record of 6-0 between them in the past.
Dimitrov is no push over and has a very strong and accurate first serve, combined with extremely strong forehands that helped him dominate his last match against Israel Dudi Sela in the previous round. Dimitrov started the ATP year with a semifinal berth at the Australian Open, but fell off a bit during the American hard court circuit, followed by a early exits on clay. His win against Sela ended 6-1, 6-1 before the Israeli retired. “After that first set, I felt I was getting, like, my confidence was actually getting pretty high, I started to be a little bit more locked in, more positive with each ball, with each shot. I was following my game pretty well.” he related.
That was Dudi Sela, but this is Roger Federer, a player that is arguably the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time), of the tennis world and is in incredible form. The Swiss tennis God hammered Mischa Zverev in round three in straight sets. He hit 58 winners and held himself to only 7 unforced errors. At an amazing 27-2 in sets won, Federer is stomping passed the competition and the odds are in his favor for another win today.
