World Matchplay Darts Quarter Finals: James Wade vs Mensur SuljovicPublished July 24, 2015 by Sol FH
The Quarter Finals continue tonight after Suljovic upset Gary Andersen and now faces Wade at 20:30 GMT.
Mensur Soljovic is a giant killer. He surprised the world in round two of the World Matchplay of darts at Blackpool by knocking out the number three ranked player Gary Andersen 13-9 to make the Quarter Finals tonight. The Scotsman Anderson was shocked by the Austrian\'s methodical style and he used it to his advantage in the early legs to leave him in the dust and still in search of the elusive triple crown.
The Quarter Finals are a best of 31 leg that needs to be won by at least two legs. Suljovic and Wade could easily need the extra legs, (up to five before sixth sudden-death) as this match will determine which player moves on to the Semi-Finals. With only two matches left to the final, both players will be using their momentum from their respective last win to try and win in Blackpool tonight.
The Winter Gardens is an amazing venue for the tournament and the max-capacity audiences have been unbelievable until now. Many people from around the UK and the rest of Europe have flocked to the World Matchplay tournament to catch a glimpse of the best in the world and they have not been disappointed. Van Gerwen is still favorite to win but the matches with the lesser favorites feature a ton of chances for punters to make lucrative cash due to competitive odds.
