Yankees vs Red Sox: Classic MLB Showdown TonightPublished August 6, 2015 by Sol FH
The most heated rivalry in the MLB live tonight at 1:05 GMT, as the Red Sox try to bounce back in New York.
The Red Sox are yet again in New York tonight and will be trying to bounce back after a humiliating loss in game 1 of their three-game series against the Yankees. On Tuesday night the Yanks put the hurt on the Sox 13-3 after a nine-run seventh inning leaving Boston at 47-60. The Yankees are in first place (60-45) in the AL East, five and a half games ahead of the second place Blue Jays and in second place overall in the American League just a couple games behind the Kansas City Royals.
On Tuesday night it was McCann and Young whom both hit three-run homers to take the win away from the Red Sox. The Yanks were down 2-1 in the sixth, with only three singles, but they turned up the heat in the seventh. To put things into proportions, the Yankees have scored 90 runs in the last 10 games including the 21-5 pummeling of the Texas Rangers.
The Red Sox are on track to miss the playoffs this season, with their losing record. They are desperate for some new blood and need their big hitters to start taking the ball deep, while playing the defense they are used to seeing on the diamond. The infield has been lousy with errors and their pitching staff needs to start zeroing in on winning games.
