Superprovider Yggdrasil’s expansion has taken a major step forward, with a foray into the Spanish market and a new logo.
Yggdrasil is set to enter a new European frontier.
The New Market
A new agreement between the gaming services support provider and existing partner GVC will bring Yggdrasil titles into the Spanish market for the first time.
GVC’s bwin brand will become the first operator to offer Yggdrasil titles in the market, with the first games scheduled to appear in Q2 2018.
Spanish Environment
The Spanish market has been growing in appeal to operators seeking entry in recent years due to recent annual growth initiated with the launching of online slots in 2015.
In fact, Spanish regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) announced that online gaming revenues were up a full 37% year-on-year for Q3 2017, to reach €140.5m.
Yggdrasil CEO Speaks
Yggdrasil Gaming CEO Fredrik Elmqvist announced that “Spain has quickly emerged as one of Europe’s fastest-growing and exciting jurisdictions, making it a perfect environment for Yggdrasil’s award-winning slots and promotional tools.
On the heels of recent entry into Denmark and Italy, Elmqvist further characterised the measure as an expansion of Yggdrasil’s footprint in Europe’s regulated markets.
GVC Head Comments
GVC Head of Content Andrew Whitworth announced that his company was “not going to pass up the opportunity to be the first operator to bring Yggdrasil’s slots to Spain, and we are certain they will perform strongly in the market.”
Yggdrasil’s Expansion
The move into Spain is the latest example of Yggdrasil’s regulated strategy, which saw it enter Denmark earlier this year and Italy during Q2 2017.
At this point, Malta-based Yggdrasil Gaming is a true leader in the provision of high end online and mobile casino games, supporting some of the world’s largest iGaming operators, including among its clients bet365, Betsson Group, bwin.party, Cherry Casino, LeoVegas, Mr Green, Casumo and Unibet.
Outlook
Establishing a stronghold in Spain can only enhance the reach and bolster the solidity of Yggdrasil as the world’s premier gaming technology and service provider.
New Logo
Also in Yggdrasil headlines today, the company unveiled it's new logo which, according to CEO Elmqvist, reflects its growth as "one of the industry's most innovative and creative suppliers". It was described artistically as a "modern make-over".
