In This Game Overview
The Dead Man's Hand other wise known as aces and eights is a 5-card draw poker hand that sports two pair. The game is derived from 133 years of legendary poker tales, made famous by Wild Bill Hickok.
Contemporary folklore has it that Wild Bill was murdered while holding a pair of Aces and Eights, although there is no validation for this claim in the modern literature. This popular video poker game is also written as Aces & 8s.
About the game
The advent of online poker has seen a surge in popularity of the video poker variant. And to this end Aces and Eights is a spin off of the Jacks or Better variation. It is played with a standard52-card deck of cards. And all the basic poker rules apply. There are, however,no Wild Cards in the game and the video poker jackpot is 4,000 coins.Â

Aces and Eights on various platforms
The game can be played and enjoyed as a single hand version at microgaming casino, or played in any of the following combinations at RTG Casinos - 1, 3,10, 52 and 100 hand multi-hand versions.
Aces and Eights tips
The trick is to know when to aim for the special hand. Aces and Eights offer mega payouts for four-of-a-kind Aces, 8's, and 7's.
It is advisable that players only break up a winning hand if they have four cards to the Royal Flush.
If you put together even one pair or Jacks or better, it is advisable to hold what guarantees a pay day.
Aces and Eights gaming
Players first deposit money, and then press the Deal button to receive their first 5 cards. It's then a simple matter of clicking on the cards to be held. The Deal button is then pressed again for new cards to be dealt. The final 5-card poker hand of cards completes after the new draw and payouts are made according to the casino's pay table.
Trivia
When players hold a hand containing Aces and Eights, it's also known as a Dead Man's Hand.
