Safety and Security at Mobile Casinos

The future of gaming has arrived with mobile casino play taking the world by storm. Now players can play their favorite casino slots, scratch cards, video poker and table games wherever, whenever without having to log in online from home or the office. But is it as safe, as secure and as private to play on a mobile device as it would be to play on your PC? Top online and mobile gaming destinations like JackpotCity Casino which offers both platforms confirm that it is. Some criteria to keep an eye out for include the following. Mobile Casino Licensing All reputable mobile casinos will have a licence to prove that it's legitimate. JackpotCity Mobile Casino for example carries a licence from the government of Malta and adheres to the strict guidelines and measures that have been set up for casinos that operate within the European Union's gaming framework. These mobile casinos also incorporate the latest data encryption technology and should carry the approval of independent industry watchdogs such as eCOGRA which ensures players of responsible conduct, professional service, fair game play and prompt payouts. Reputable Software Provider You can tell a lot about a mobile casino by its software provider. If it uses a world-renowned software giant like Microgaming like JackpotCity Mobile Casino does, you're not only assured of the best graphics, effects and features but also uninterrupted play, easy navigation and the guarantee that the casino is established, reputable and safe. Microgaming's mobile system furthermore has built-in disconnection insurance which lets you pick up the game where you've left it, in the event of losing your connection while playing. This feature has no time limit and ensures that you won't ever lose a purchase. Trusted Banking Methods All mobile casinos offer a choice of banking mechanisms including debit cards, credit cards, web wallets, prepaid solutions and even mobile airtime billing. Most mobile devices including Android Smartphones and Tablets allow for in-software deposits and withdrawals while some older platforms might redirect you to an online environment to make your cash outs. Either way, you'll be able to do this quickly and without any hassle, so you can do your banking with complete peace of mind. Professional Customer Support Your mobile casino's customer service team is a vital source of information and support while you're playing. A quality casino should provide assistance 24/7 and should be within easy reach. JackpotCity Mobile Casino's friendly team for example can be reached via phone, email or live chat night and day.

Warner Bros. Sued for Lord of the Rings Slots

Readers may remember that back in May we announced the sudden closure of Microgaming's video slot game: The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. Needless to say, this came as a bit of a surprise as the slot game was doing extremely well since its launch in 2010. Back then, it was widely speculated that the closure was due to a breach in copyright agreement, and it's possible that we were right as it looks like Warner Bros. now have a big, fat lawsuit on their laps. An $80 million lawsuit, no less. LawsuitEarlier today, it was announced that the estate of the late British author J. R. R. Tolkien is taking entertainment giant Warner Bros. for unauthorized merchandising. It is claimed that Warner Bros. do not have the electronic rights to the Lord of Rings property, and have over-stepped an agreement by launching the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring slot game. According to Tolkien, WB were only ever granted the rights to exploit the Lord of the Rings brand by releasing "tangible products" to the market. The lawsuit comes just a week before the New Zealand premier of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first in a new Hobbit Trilogy, also based on the fiction of Tolkein. And just to top it off, a volcano which feature in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, blew its top and erupted in Wellington, NZ last Wednesday, shooting a 2-mile column of ash into the air.AlternativesMeanwhile, for those pining for the Lord of the Rings video games of yesterday, it would be worthwhile trying out the Batman: The Dark Knight video slot game as reviewed on our site, Thunderstruck II and Immortal Romance.

Skyfall Lives Up to Bond Casino Scenes Repute

Casino-themed movies have proven to be a successful formula: Witness Casino, The Cooler, and 21 (about MIT nerds who took Las Vegas for millions). And non-gambling movies with casino scenes have done just as well: Check out Rain Man (blackjack), Ocean's Eleven (poker), Toy Story 3 (roulette). But nowhere are casinos and gambling so integral to a film's mystique than in James Bond films. It was across a casino table in Dr Nowhere Sean Connery first uttered "...the name's Bond, James Bond." Skyfall lives up to legacy Now, the spectacular box office performance of Skyfall has triggered conversations on whether the movie lives up to the Bond legacy of lavish, action-packed casino scenes. The verdict among Bond fans, film reviewers, and casino aficionados: a resounding yes! The movie's floating casino setting, fireworks, dragons, fight scenes, and superb cinematography provide moviegoers with a visual feast - and puts the 23 rd Bond movie right up there with other James Bond films. What's your favorite James Bond casino scene? To help you decide, here's a rundown: Dr No - James Bond plays baccarat with first Bond girl "Sylvia Trench". Thunderball - Bond matches wits and skills with villain "Emilio Largo"over a card game. On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 007 rescues "Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo" from a risky roulette move. GoldenEye - Bond loses to, but soon beats, a gorgeous Russian agent in a game of baccarat. Casino Royale -Bond and Smersh villain Le Chiffre try to beat each  other in several Texas Hold 'em games.Never Say Never Again - 007 crashes a charity casino event and challenges the villain in a 3D game aptly named "Domination." The excitement and non-stop action of a casino lends itself well to a secret agent movie. In real life, though, there are just as many thrills in an online casino game. What's more the winnings are real - not make believe!

Spanish Christmas Lottery Tickets: Great Stocking Stuffer

Guess what millions of people want for Christmas? No, not the Kindle Fire HD, iPad Mini, or iPhone 5. All they want is a Spanish Christmas Lottery ticket that offers a €2.52 billion total prize pool, 1 in 7 odds of winning a prize, and 1 in 100,000 odds of winning the jackpot. This year, about 27.5 million winners (up to 360 millionaires among them) will be announced during a three-hour extravaganza on December 22. How it works The Spanish Christmas Lottery - or El Gordo( "the fat one") - is based on tickets which have five-digit numbers. An entire ticket (billete) costs €200 and is sold as tenths (decimos) at €20 each to be more affordable. Each set of numbers on each ticket is also sold multiple times in several "series." The first prize goes to a single winning number. So if, say, the prize amount was €3 million and there were 180 series of the winning number, the €3 million is paid out 180 times for a total of €540 million. A decimo holder of the winning number wins a tenth of the €3 million or €300,000. The biggest lottery prizes... the greatest winning odds Last year, the lottery paid out €4 million for the 1st prize, that is, €400,000 per decimo ticket. All 1,800 winning tickets were sold in Spain, which won a combined €720 million. No wonder almost everyone in Spain buys a lottery ticket or a share of a ticket, each spending an average of €75. El Gordo offers huge prizes, pays out 70 percent of the winnings tax-free and, with the over 15,000 prize-winning combinations, provides unparalleled winning odds. Where to buy your Spanish Christmas Lottery ticket Live outside Spain? No worries. You can buy your ticket online at theLotter, which provides secure and convenient purchase of tickets for over 40 of the world's top lotto games. To participate in the Spanish Christmas Lottery, go to the site and select one or more shares with a five-digit code. Your ticket will be scanned to your private account, and winnings transferred directly to you, commission-free. Tip: Don't wait too long - the drawing date is coming soon and tickets could be sold out! Till then buena suerte!

Phil Ivey Talks All About Online Poker

Phil Ivey, one of the world's most well-known and celebrated poker professionals, opened up about online poker to ESPN recently, talking about everything from Full Tilt to his own website. On IveyPoker.com "People aren't learning how to play," Ivey said of other social poker sites, so he decided to set up his own platform. Ivey explained that his website will include video instruction with the man himself and other members of his team. He summarized: "People will learn how to play and live." On teaching skills Ivey said that a lot of his skill comes from experience, but added that much of it can be taught. At IveyPoker.com, he said, "I'm going to teach people how to observe other players and do it in the correct way. I'm going to teach them how to make adjustments off the things they observe." On Full Tilt Phil was asked if he'd like say anything to former players of Full Tilt at this point. He admitted there was a lot he would like to say to poker players, but pointed out that given the legal ramifications, he is simply not allowed to. "However," he promised, "when the time is right - and it should be soon - I look forward to all the questions." And who is his main challenger "Definitely Patrik Antonius," Ivey said. "He's one of the best no-limit players in the world. I've played a lot of poker with him, and especially if he's in the deep stack, he's a very tough opponent to play against."

Sweet 16: Casino Giveaways to Random Visitors

Tropezia Palace recently launched in the UK and English speaking markets. To celebrate the launch, Tropezia is giving away €1,500 to 16 random players who go over and test the casino. What's more, whilst we are use to large amounts being given away to depositing players, what makes this offer interesting is that they are splitting the size of the pot so anyone who wants to simply play for fun still has a chance to win free casino chips. Starts Today The competition is simple. If you go over to the Casino between the November 26 and December 3, register and play 3 games, you are automatically put in the draw to win a split of €500 of free casino chips (with a wagering requirement of x35 if you win). However, Tropezia Palace seems pretty confident that you'll keep playing. If you deposit any amount (from a minimum of €10 upward) you will then also have a chance of grabbing one of the slices of the generous splits of €1,000. What caught our eye on this offer is that there are no wagering requirements on this part of the winning. If you win any amount, from €100 to €160, you get to keep it all and do what you want with it. The Winnings The pots will be split as follows: Register, Play, Win So if you are interested in trying out a new casino, we recommend you go over to Tropezia, register and play. If you're really smart, you might even deposit a few euros to double your chances of winning. You have nothing to lose and the odds look good that you could grab yourself a slice of a very generous give away. The winners will be announced on Monday, December 3.

Beloved Dallas Star Larry Hagman Dies

Larry Hagman - whose iconic role as the faithless, evil, and corrupt "JR Ewing" in the nighttime soap Dallas led to stardom and sky-high ratings for the show - has died after complications from his battle with cancer. The 81-year-old actor passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, including Dallas co-star Linda Gray. Hagman first came to prominence as the star of the 60s' NBC comedy I Dream of Jeannie - playing astronaut Dr. Tony Nelson opposite Barbara Eden's attractive genie. But it was as the villainous Texas oil baron JR Ewing in CBS' Dallas series that he achieved full stardom. The show's most famous episode, "Who Shot JR", was a cliffhanger that broke viewing records, inspired endless speculation, and was so talked-about that bookmakers placed odds on the outcome of the show. Bookies worldwide take bets on who shot JR It was the start of the "greedy 80s." Jimmy Carter was in the White House. And "who shot JR" was on everyone's minds - including bookmakers who were placing odds on who pulled the trigger. (The previous season's final episode showed JR Ewing (Hagman) shot by an unseen gunman.) The bookmakers, who had given wife Sue Ellen (Gray) 25/1 odds and risked six-figure losses, were relieved when it turned out that it was JR's mistress Kristin Shepard (Mary Crosby) who had done the deed. While the above certainly makes for interesting trivia in the betting world, it is nevertheless just a sidebar in Larry Hagman's celebrated life and career.
