Tonight's Monday Night spotlight shines down on FedEx Field in Landover Maryland for the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins. It should be an excellent game as both teams are fired up for a win in week 5. The Seahawks are in second place in the NFC west, while the Redskins are in last place in the NFC east, but don't count them out just yet. QB Matchup Last year was an all-star season for both QB's, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson, respectively. Griffin took the Redskins to an NFC East title, while Wilson got the Seahawks their first Super Bowl Championships against the Broncos. The beginning of this year worked out quite differently for each player as well, Griffin III dislocated his left ankle in Week 2, while Wilson has taken the defending champions to a 2-1 record including an overtime victory against their Super bowl rivals. Since Griffin went down, backup quarterback Kirk Cousins has been struggling to make anything happen for the Skins. They lost by 31 points last week and Cousins turned the ball over five times in his lack-luster performance. On paper, it looks like these teams are quite even, but lest we forget that the Seahawks had a bye week last week, which means they are almost better than the Redskins are even when they are missing a game. Keys to Victory Let's face it, the Seahawks have a chance to win it all again but they cannot continue to suck in the fourth quarter as they did against the Broncos. The Seahawks' defense allowed 17 points and needed Wilson to rally back for a dramatic overtime win. Wilson needs to score early and use Percy Harvin through the air and Marshawn Lynch on the ground. The Redskins need to get on the board early as well, but they will need to stop the dominating offense that the Seahawks bring to the field. Cousins needs to get comfortable fast if he is to have any luck tonight. Online Markets bet365 Sports is covering tonight's matchup and the odds are quite interesting. Punters have some attractive markets like Point Spread, Outright Victory (Seahawks 1.29 - Redskins 3.70) and much more. There are numerous 2-way lines and Game totals markets, which could mean lucrative cash if the picks are good.
The biggest lottery in Europe is ready to change some lives, with the jackpot now reaching an estimated €111,000,000 for the draw on Tuesday, October 7th. The fact that nobody claimed the big prize last week means that the amount was rolled over yet again and is now the biggest jackpot prize pool in the world at roughly $140 million. The reason why this is so important is that while EuroMillions lottery tickets are only sold in Europe, potential winners from other locations can very easily purchase online lottery tickets at reliable websites; such as The Lotter and LotteryMaster. Taking Part In The Action The lottery is known for its slightly different approach than some of the other major games around the world. The main features are that the five regular numbers are selected from just 50 options and the special ones are from 11. The reduced number of possibilities gives players a better chance at winning and purchasing lottery tickets online makes it highly convenient. In order to take part in the action, you just need to select five numbers from 1 to 50 and two more, known as the Lucky Stars, from 1 to 11. When the draw takes place, seven numbers in total will be selected from the two groups and the prizes will be granted. There are 13 prize tiers in order to create as many winners as possible. These range from matching just two numbers to getting all of them right and getting the jackpot. Buying Tickets Online Everything is more convenient and cheaper when done online. While lotteries used to be limited by country, the big ones are now open to everyone thanks to online lottery tickets. These are entered on the website and the tickets are then purchased by local agents representing users from around the world. The name of the buyer and the selected numbers will be on the tickets. Lottery Master and The Lotter are reliable places which help make lotteries worldwide and facilitate the needed services for all winners.
The current state of online gambling, and the struggle to get it restored, emanates from the 2011 ruling by the Justice Department and the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that the 1961 Wire Act outlawing the use of wired communications facilities to make bets applied only to sports betting and not online poker. Though opening the door for online poker, states have been slow to regulate and tax online gambling, with only New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada being states that have passed laws to allow, regulate and tax online gambling. The speed and extent to which states follow suit is the current issue-at-arms. The Current Climate So what happened before the ruling? Online operators were very popular from the time the internet came out until 2006, when Congress passed the “Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act,” illegalizing the act of accepting payments “in connection with the participation of another person in unlawful Internet gambling.” This diverted gambling revenues and activity back to live casinos, a redirect culminating with the 2011 violation of Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet were charged with violating the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act, resulting in closure of online gaming entities in the US. The Final Challenge? However, as Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware exemplify models of adaptation, new November legislation called the Restoration of America’s Wire Act could threaten the online poker market in the US once again. Introduced by South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the Restoration of Americas Wire Act is also backed by Sheldon Adelson and the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling. The bill would restore the Wire Act, whose passage would cause Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey to end online poker and/or online casino game offerings, and would conclude the proceedings of any states states developing regulatory guidelines for same. The conservative states and conservative elements in society will always put up strong arguments and campaigns against gambling, but a precedent establishing once and for all the ability of moral arguments to forestall the more pragmatic issues of business and revenue to be gained from online gambling will be clearly defined.
Williams Interactive are a casino games developer who have released such popular titles as Wicked Riches and Spartacus - Gladiator of Rome. The latest release Sea of Tranquility, uses a 'Close Enough' game engine that has been running successfully at land based casinos for a year, and can turn losing spins into winning ones. Sea of Tranquility Slot This is another innovative game from Williams Interactive, who are a subsidiary of Scientific Games. It is the first of a planned series of titles for online casinos that will use the Close Enough feature, where after a spin, Wild or Bonus symbols that are just off the screen can at random count towards the players spin, resulting in a payout. Another feature of note is the Bonus Guarantee, which ensures that should you enter the free spins round, when playing at maximum bet, you will get a minimum reward of 5x your stake amount. To trigger the free spins, players need 2 Bonus symbols on reel 1, which starts 7 spins, while getting the Bonus symbol on reels 1, 2 and 3 increases the number of free spins to 10. Along with the high card symbols, Sea of Tranquility has a Moon, Ship, Owl and Girl, all designed to give the game a relaxing feel. The Close Enough feature has proved itself at casinos, with Robin Littleworth, the senior director for game development at Williams Interactive saying ''The Close Enough game engine capitalizes on the near-miss experience, which is common in modern slot game experiences, and awards the player on spins that would have just missed in standard slots.'' The Cardinals and the Dodgers have had the most exciting divisional series of the MLB post season so far this year. As the Orioles swept the Tigers and the Royals doing the same over the Angles, all that is left is the Nationals vs Giants and tonight’s matchup from Busch Stadium. The Cardinals were saved late in Game 3 by slugger Kolten Wong, whom hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to take the lead and the win 3-1. The Dodgers will need their bats to be hot tonight if they are to have any chance against Shelby Miller and the Cardinals. On the Mound Clayton Kershaw, the left handed pitcher will get the start for the visiting Dodgers and he has not had the kind of playoff run he would have liked so far. He has an 8.10 ERA over the last three post season games and gave up eight runs in 6 2/3 innings back in Game 1. The Cardinals hand the ball over to a first time playoff pitcher, Shelby Miller. The right hander gets the honor of starting his first playoff game after going 4-1 with an ERA of 1.48 over his five starts in September. Miller is amazing on the mound and could end the Dodgers comeback hopes tonight. Online gambling growth in Britain is looking good. Despite the much-feared Government point-of-consumption (PoC) tax, turnover for the industry is well on pace to surpass £3bn in the next two years. Robust Projections This projection is based on current figures showing net gaming revenue having gained 12.2 percent last year to reach £2.31bn. The PoC actually stands to raise Treasury revenues substantially, as the 15 percent tax increase on all bets placed online up will raise up to £400m for the Treasury, in an ideal situation where robust growth fuels increased revenues for both the government and private operators in the first full year of online gambling. Further growth is expected in the form of Gambling Compliance Research arm GCRS estimates online gambling revenue increases of 11.4 percent to £2.58bn in 2014, a further 10 percent in 2015 to £2.83bn, and another jump of 13.6 percent to £3.22bn in 2016. Daniel Stone, head of data content at Gambling Compliance, says a spike in activity ahead of the PoC implementation will concentrate traffic online as a result, as companies compete for the online gambling dollar ahead of the tax regime: “...the market share analysis contained in the report shows just how crowded the online space is in the UK. With companies forced to reassess their business models in light of the imminent tax hit, the fight for new customers and share of wallet has never been more intense.” Heated Market Competition William Hill is retaining its status as the leading online operator in Britain in the previous fiscal year of 2013, with a 14,5 percent of total market share. However, bet365 is putting on a strong challenge, boosting its overall share by 2.4 percent to 13.7 percent. While the fight for #1 continues, overall online competition in the UK is clearly spurred by the popularity of sports betting and gambling in England which has effectively transferred to the online model, with the government set to benefit the most from the new intensity of operator competition in a rapidly narrowing field.
What seemed to be a halting trend to online gambling in Canada is really just a minor sputter. The apparent trend was initiated with the withdrawal of operators Matchbook and Bet Fred and payment processor Skrill from the Canadian market last year and followed the Ladbrokes Canada announcement that customers could no longer play there and had to withdraw funds by October 1st. The Scope of Canadian Regulation Government agencies run legal lottery corporations and racing commissions in Canada, but there is no language in Canada law addressing (or prohibiting) offshore gambling or betting per se. Quebec's first nation reserve of Kahnawake even hosts offshore gambling servers. As it stands, current Canadian law prohibits offshore gambling companies from advertising real money products and related products. To stay under the radar and continue limited operations uninterrupted, online operators such as Bet365, Bodog, Betfair and most recently PokerStars have ceased advertising their products in Canada. Ladbrokes: Business Decision not Regulation Issue In this new climate, Ladbrokes' withdrawal from the Canadian market avoids the hassles of proving the new UK Gaming Commission (UKGC) requirement that the company doesn't bring in more than 3% of its total revenue from Canada, which would otherwise leave the company open to regional taxation as well as increased scrutiny and government impediment to the business activities of Ladbrokes' Canadian branch. Since Ladbrokes in reality only garners about .5% of its revenue from Canada, it was much more prudent for Ladbrokes to shut down its Canadian operations and avoid the scrutiny and tax requirements that might otherwise rock the boat for all remaining gambling operators in Canada. Other Operators Remain Other UK companies such as Bet365, William Hill and Betfair have a more significant Canadian presence, so they will not be summarily withdrawing in the same manner as Ladbrokes Canada, and will be adapting to the tax regulations of the crown to maintain their larger operations in the Canadian environment. Suffice to say, the withdrawal of Ladbrokes from the Canadian market should not be seen as an industry-wide trend or regulation issue, but merely common financial prudence on the part of one market operator with insignificant holdings in the Canadian market.
The online gambling industry is one of the most competitive to have ever existed. And within that industry, you have online casinos competing among one another just to remain relevant with players. In 2014, it has been apparent that Long Harbour Casino is one of the sites making a clear effort to improve the experience for players. A number of changes have been made so far, with three in particular demanding attention. More Casino Sites Launched Long Harbour Casino is positioned on Harbour Gaming, which is an emerging network in the online casino marketplace. Alongside Long Harbour, other fresh casino sites have joined in 2014. The current roster of sites consists of LuckyBalls, Monte Casino, Yachting Casino, and Long Harbour. A recent addition is BetsKING, which was added to Harbour Gaming in early September. BetsKING has been hosting casino games, live dealer games, and sports betting since December 2012. Players who speak English, German, or Turkish can all access the site, while a mobile platform is also available for Apple and Android users. NetEnt Games Back in August, players received quite a reward when Harbour Gaming launched NetEnt games across all of the sites on the network. A total of 11 games were made available on Harbour Gaming sites, all of which can also be accessed on mobile devices. Alongside a couple of table games, the selection was mostly mobile slots. Big-name titles include Ghost Pirates, Gonzo’s Quest, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and EggOmatic. New Deal for New Players Rather than stick with the more widely available welcome bonus concept, Long Harbour sites now offer players a welcome package instead. Newly created accounts now have the option to claim a 100% welcome bonus of up to €333 plus 33 free spins for the popular Starburst slot from NetEnt. Only deposits of at least €10 are eligible.
Round 2 of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy (Football League Trophy) continues today as Cheltenham Town FC hosts Bristol City at Whaddon Road at 7:45pm UK time. Cheltenham Town Cheltenham is currently positioned tenth in the League Two table with 16 points having won 4 games, drawn 4 games and lost 3. The team hasn't won in six games, their last game against Wimbledon on Saturday ending a 1-1 draw. The Robins will be very keen on winning today on home turf. They'll have to do that without midfielder Asa Hall and defender Paul Black who are sidelined due to injuries, however the team will be able to put into use Jason Taylor and Troy Brown who returns from bans. Bristol City The memory of their painful encounter with Oxford United still lingers for Bristol City. The League Two team stunned Bristol in the 87th minute back in August in a late goal that eliminated Bristol from the second round of the Capital One Cup. With this experience, Bristol arrives at Whaddon Road today to face yet again a League Two team – one that has not won in six games and is desperate to get out of the rut. Anxiety must be high with Bristol players as they put their reputation on the line again today against a League Two team. Midfielder Marlon Pack who will play against his former club is determined to avoid another embarrassment, saying that they need to relax and play their normal game. Bet Live This fixture will be covered live over at online sportsbook Winner Sports with a full range of in-play and pre-match betting markets. Full time result odds offer 3/1 on Cheltenham, 5/6 on Bristol and 49/20 for a draw. Tune-in Winner Sports this evening to enjoy this interesting match with a wager.
