Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment is in talks with two American gambling companies that could see it return to the US gaming market once it is regulated, the online gambling group has confirmed.Preparing for LegalizationCo-CEO Jim Ryan confirmed the group was in negotiations, but said the company had to be realistic about where it sat in the food chain. He said Bwin.Party believed if the US regulated it would be unlikely the company could secure a direct license, and that it would therefore need to go through US-based companies to operate legally.Ryan added that there is no certainty the US will ever legalize and regulate its online gambling industry, but that if things did head that way Bwin.Party would be putting itself in a good position to enter the market.Former US Poker LeaderLondon-listed Bwin.Party is the world's largest online gambling firm, and was formed from the March 2011 merger between Party Poker and European sports betting giant bwin.Party Poker was once the biggest players in the US online poker market, and this is something the officials at Bwin.Party will no doubt be hoping to replicate in the event the United States moves ahead with legalized internet gambling.
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump and partner Marc Lasry are joining the push to obtain a prime position in the event that online gambling is finally legalized and regulated in the United States.Online gaming joint ventureLasry's Avenue Capital Group and Trump Entertainment Resorts will establish a join online gaming venture should American regulators allow licenses in the future, according to a filing made on October 14 by the two men.Trump Entertainment, which was taken over by Avenue Capital last year, would own 10 percent of the joint venture, the filing said, although it did not reveal the value of the shares held by Trump or by Lasry's $12 billion New York hedge fund.Push to legalize online gamblingThe agreement comes at a time when several states are mulling the possibility of legalizing online gambling, even without a federal resolution on the matter. One of those states, New Jersey, is home to Trump Entertainment, which also holds land-based casino licenses there.Trump told the Associated Press last week that the US should overturn a 2006 law that effectively prohibits internet gambling. "It should be approved here," he said. "An awful lot of money is leaving the US that should and could stay in this country."
After a long week that threatened its online operations, William Hill Online released a laconic statement: "The group can now confirm that normal operations have resumed and that William Hill Online remains committed to its operation in Tel Aviv." The Tel Aviv Office Walk-Out Much of WHO's marketing and customer support are run from the Tel Aviv office. Rumors, which have been denied by company management, had it that the Tel Aviv office will be closed down and relocated to either Britain or Gibraltar. The rumors prompted nearly 200 staff, including several top managers, to walk out in protest. Eyal Sanoff, the chief marketing officer in Israel, had resigned as well. Walkouts have also taken place in WHO offices in Bulgaria and The Philippines. All three offices - Tel Aviv, Bulgaria and Manila - were once owned by Playtech's Teddy Sagi. Sagi and Sanoff are said to be close associates. The William Hill Online venture is owned by William Hill (71 per cent) and Playtech (29 per cent). A Tel Aviv Plot? William Hill Online has come to suspect the Tel Aviv office had been plotting to set up a rival business. The bookmaker's chief executive Ralph Topping had grown suspicious following the Tel Aviv office refusal to comply with an internal audit, and upset over alleged payments for table-tennis coaching for managers. "I'm absolutely furious but cannot comment further," he said. The Aftermath Mr. Topping arrived in Tel Aviv immediately after the walkout and has assisted in settling the dispute. The company has sacked seven managers; severance is estimated at £2 million, including non-compete clauses. Mr. Topping has also installed Henry Birch, WHO's chief executive, and Jim Mullen, its chief operating officer, in Tel Aviv. They will manage the office for the next few months, in an attempt to change the business culture there. Mr Topping has also met Playtech's chief executive Mor Weizer, though not with Mr. Sagi, who holds a 40 per cent share. The bookie has an option to buy out Playtech's stake in October 2013. "I am very pleased that this issue is now behind William Hill Online," Weizer said after the meeting.

Class 1 Casino has sent out an email announcement to all its affiliates earlier today saying it has shut down its doors to all new and returning players.
