The 2014 Russian Gaming Week conference and exhibition (RGW) is kicking off today and will wrap up tomorrow evening in Russian local time. Organized by Smile Expo, this year the RGW is quite unique in the sense that it takes place in Sochi, the coastal city of the Black Sea which hosted the Winter Olympics earlier this year. Sochi was chosen as the location after the Russian government's decision to establish a future gaming zone in the city's resort area. The Barcelona Affiliate Conference (BAC) has expanded considerably in recent years, but this year's conference was a two-day treat. Emerging Theme of Social Engagement The importance of social engagement, a workshop led by Louis Derring of Income Access, was reported as a consensus as one of the surprise highlights of the event. Effective, easy ways to do that include adding “share” buttons to every page and putting up all available widgets. He also advised to prioritizing engagement in marketing engagement—focusing on getting people to click first before worrying about making sales. The Commissioner of the NBA Adam Silver has expressed his support for legalized sports betting in the US.
