Huge Online Gambling Bust in Italy Linked to Mafia

In one of the biggest sting operations in Italian history, a major rigged online gambling operation has been broken up by Italian authorities. The illegal gambling operation was based in Salerno and prosecutors have stated that the games made it "impossible for players to make significant winnings." The operation was wide-spread throughout Salerno and there have already been eighteen people arrested. In total, 64 suspects are still being investigated, but authorities are sure that the leader of the Mafia-linked operation is Antonio Contaldo. The 50 year old has ties to the Camorra organized crime syndicate, as well as the 'Ndrangheta based in Calabria. Operation Jamm Jamm The police sting was the end of a long investigation that was named "Operation Jamm Jamm." The Jamm Jamm club in San Valentino Torio was one of the facilities funded by illegal online gambling profits, which has now been seized and closed indefinitely Illegal Online Gambling Sites In addition to the Mafia ties, this operation had links to the "King of Slots." Luigi Tancredi has been a ringleader of illegal gambling for years who is also believed to be the owner of DollaroPoker. After his arrest in January, authorities cracked down on more than 12,000 online gaming terminals in bars, pubs and cafes across Italy.  Importance of Secure Online Gambling Could this operation have been stopped from the beginning? Probably not, but players could have easily tried to verify the trustworthiness of the brands listed above by making sure that they were all regulated and certified casinos by the Italian AAMS. If you do not do a bit of homework before gambling with your hard-earned money than this could happen again.

Kiss Casinos to Shut Down

Yet another new online casino shuts down a very short time after it launches - this time it's Kiss Casinos that leaves the world of online gambling. Launched in late 2015, Kiss Casinos has sent word yesterday that it will be integrating with Dolarbet Casino. According to the e-mail sent to affiliates, Kiss Casinos will be in operation until the end of this month, April 30th 2016, when it will be closed down for good. Future with Dolarbet The message to affiliates also read that affiliates and players are advised to open new accounts with the Dolarbet brand, which will offer players casino games and sportsbook bets as well as an experience dubbed "Arena Challenge" which was said to be the first live betting game that combines sport bets with poker. However, due to the feebleness of the short-lived Kiss Casinos brand, it is generally advised to wait and see how the next few weeks pan out for the people operating Kiss Casinos and Dolarbet. Online Casino Reports recommends any players registered with Kiss Casinos to make sure that they withdraw all winnings and complete any unfinished business that they might have with Kiss Casinos before the end of the month. New Casinos Shutting Down - Worrisome Trend  In general, readers who have been following our updates probably noticed the worrisome trend of new online casinos setting up shop and closing down not a very long time after. It's not uncommon to see new online casino brands bursting into the world with big announcements and promises about unmatched offers and promotions, unique features and so on, only to have them shut down in a brief e-mail to affiliates a few months later.  Hopefully, this trend will come to a stop and not grow any further, as it brings harm both to players and affiliates, and doesn't do a lot of respect to the wonderful world of online casinos in general.

Champions League Quarter-Finals 1st Leg: Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid

After a run of 39-straight wins, Barcelona finally lost a match at home to Real Madrid. It was a surprise to the team, as well as the fans because Barca was in full control until around the 70th minute of play, when things began to unravel. Many people say that the loss has softened Barcelona, but others say that the loss has actually poured fuel on the fire and Atletico will be the team to get burned. Atletico have had an amazing season in La Liga and are still in second place, just six points back from Barcelona. Wary of the Barcelona defense and of course their trinity of strikers, Atletico knows that they will need to try and control the ball and make quick and smart passes in order to try and slow down the inevitable Barcelona attack. Too strong? Messi, Neymar and Suarez. 'Nuff Said? Three of the best in the world on the pitch at the same time is just too much for most teams, which is why Barcelona have dominated so many games in the Champions League. The previous meetings between the teams on a European stage were in the Champions League in 2013/14 at Camp Nou, where Neymar's goal late in the game tied the match 1-1 after Diego opened the scoring for Atletico in the first leg. A week later, Koke put in the sole goal of the second leg, which ultimately ousted Barcelona from the tournament and ended a six-year run of them making the Semi-Finals; something they will be looking to avenge tonight. Champions League Betting Tonight's game is being covered comprehensively by bet365 Sports. The famed UK sportsbook has odds in favor of Barcelona at 1.50, while Atletico are surprisingly way behind at 8.00. This could be the bet that punters dream of, as an Atletico victory or draw (4.33) could be a reality. Check out the live in-play bets throughout the match as well.

Real-Money Online Bingo to Make US Debut in New Jersey

Delaware may have been the first state to legalize online gambling, but since Nevada and New Jersey followed suit, New Jersey has been stealing most of the spotlight with its record-high numbers and continual innovations. Last week, New Jersey became the first state to offer not only online gambling and poker, but also online bingo. Pala Interactive, a California-based tribe of Native Americans, launched a real-money bingo website in the Garden State where players can play 90 ball bingo and receive a number of different promotions. Chief executive officer of Pala Interactive, Jim Ryan, commented on the launch, “We believe there is tremendous potential in 90-ball bingo in New Jersey and as such we decided to launch 90-ball bingo with a dedicated brand.” The catch right now? It’s still in its beta stage, which means that it's not yet open to the public at large. For now, the first 400 players who register on the site will receive $25 free to play each day. The players will then provide feedback on what works and what doesn’t work, so the site can be improved upon ready to move to forward. Pala Interactive is also the partner of the online casino of Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel & Spa, so the company is no stranger to online gambling. When online gambling was legalized in New Jersey in 2013, one of the conditions was that online operators must partner with a land-based operator – and Pala Interactive chose Borgata.  Jeremy Clemons, chief marketing officer of Pala Interactive, said , “We’re encouraged by the growth. It further validates our decision to enter the market.” Kathy Wakile, TV personality, has been hired as the spokesperson for Pala Interactive, and will host a monthly Bingo night the first Monday of every month – the first one is tonight, Monday, April 4th, 2016. As of now, Delaware and Nevada do not offer online bingo for real money; but perhaps, if New Jersey’s first attempt is successful, they will follow suit.

Tonight: The US Powerball Lottery Draws for a $148,000,000 Jackpot

With no jackpot winners on Saturday 2nd April, the US Powerball lottery has rolled over to an estimated $148 million. That's equivalent to a $97.6 million cash prize after taxes, while any lucky winners can also choose to take their huge fortune in annual installments, which go up each year to reflect any rises in the cost of living. It could be won on Wednesday 6th April, when the next draw takes place. Like all of the main lotteries around the world, the US Powerball is now open not just to local residents, but also to people from many other countries. This is due to online ticket services such as The Lotter, LottoBooking and Play USA Lotteries, which have local agents who purchase tickets on behalf of their players and forward any winnings directly to them. About The US Powerball This is quite possibly the biggest and most famous lottery in the world, which is officially run across 44 states of the USA and often features the biggest jackpots, including the $1.5 billion prize that was won by three ticket holders back in January of 2016. Every Wednesday and Saturday night, at 10.59pm, EST, the draws take place in Tallahassee Florida. 5 main balls from a pool of 69 are randomly picked from a drum, then a single red 'Powerball' is drawn from a second drum of 26. Anyone who has correctly matched up the 6 numbers will win the jackpot, which is shared should more than one ticket hold all the numbers, while matching just the 5 main numbers will win a guaranteed $1 million prize. Tickets cost just $2 per line, with multiple entries on a single ticket possible for a greater winning chance. Players will need to have them by 10.00 pm however, so anyone using an online service, or outside of Eastern Standard Time will have to take the local difference into account, with the UK for example being 5 hours ahead, and much of Europe being 6 hours ahead.

Microgaming's Makeover for Bar Bar Black Sheep Releases Today

Old-school fans of Microgaming will remember the classic three-reel slot Bar Bar Black Sheep. The game received a modern makeover as an exclusive slot and is set to be released today, April 6th, on the Quickfire platform for both desktop and mobile gaming. Players can expect to find the slot at Microgaming-powered casinos like All Slots Casino, Crazy Vegas Casino and 7Sultans Casino. A Perfect Addition for Spring The video slot looks very nice with its colorful theme and familiar character. It keeps with the Microgaming style and has the standard interface that many players are already familiar with. It is easy to use and the simplistic animations make for a fun experience on every spin. Even the soundtrack is very catchy and goes very well with the design created after the classic slot in the collection. Bar Bar Black Sheep Features The main feature that makes the video slot unique is actually a small mini game that incorporates the original 3-reel slot from Microgaming in the gameplay. Whenever two BAR symbols and a black sheep appear aligned on the reels, they will trigger an on-screen bonus that spins the three symbols to determine the multiplier, up to 999x the original bet. This actually takes place pretty often and makes for large wins. Three symbols of the bag of wool appearing anywhere on the screen will trigger the free spins. This will change the style a bit and present a version with dark reels, while increasing the earnings for much bigger prizes through multipliers. The game also has wild symbols, shown by the logo of the game and they will help create combinations as they substitute for regular symbols. Overall, the 95.03% return to player rate and a maximum win of £95,000 put the upcoming Bar Bar Black Sheep slot in a good position for players to have fun and claim large prizes.

PSG vs Manchester City: Will City Have What It Takes to Upset the Parisians?

When looking at PSG and Manchester City's Champions League performance sheets, there are quite a few similarities. For example, since the beginning of the tournament, PSG has scored 16 goals, while City have 15; possession time is around the same, as is shots on target and goal attempts. One of the differences however, are the number of offsides and yellow cards received, wherein PSG have 41 offsides and 17 yellow cards, while City have 10 and 6 respectively. Those last stats indicate a major difference in the style of play that these teams bring to the pitch. PSG are a much more physical team that are penalized heavily for their aggressive tactics, while City have a more structured approach. Either way, both teams are evenly matched, but PSG are still heavy favorites to win the first leg. Why is City such an Underdog Tonight? Both PSG and City are coming off huge wins in their national leagues, with the Parisians beating Nice 4-1 and City crushing Bournemouth 4-0. When looking at each teams' league standings, perhaps it is easier to understand why PSG are expected to win. PSG are way out in first place, without a chance of losing any ground. They have garnered 80 points in 32 matches, with the second place team, (Monaco) with 55. Manchester City are in fourth place in what has been one of the wildest Premier League seasons of all time, with 54 points in 31 matches. Quebec Legislates to Block Unlicensed Gambling Sites

Quebec is dropping the hammer, or block as the regulation case may be. Limiting Access Bill 74 currently under review with Quebec legislators seeks to limit resident access to unauthorised gambling websites, much to the consternation of the free internet crowd.   The overarching principle under consideration would allow Quebec residents to only access websites that have previously met government approval, meaning the Quebec government is looking to take it upon themselves to decide what information and content their citizens can access. Finance Minister's Protection The Quebec Finance Minister defended the government's position, saying that the bill is protective in nature and seeks to protect residents from unscrupulous illegal gambling sites that prey on addiction and promote dishonest gambling practices.  Opponent's Position Opponents of Bill 74 are quick to point out that the bill's passage would render Quebec the first Canadian province to impose Internet censorship.  Further concern among opponents stems from the claim that Bill 74 conflicts with established telecommunications law as well as the Canadian hallmark of freedom of expression. Internet companies will team up with civil rights groups for this battle in the court of public opinion, as well as in any legal challenges should Bill 74 go through.  Government's Position The Quebec government claims that online gambling sites are taking revenues away from government-sponsored Lot-Quebec.  The benefits the government points out from blocking illegal providers is the prevention of young people from accessing gambling sites whose environments have not been secured by regulation along with increasing Quebec's lottery revenue, which should provide residents with a full range of secure gambling options once Bill 74 passes. Alternative Rejected An alternative suggested by those monitoring the situation would be for the Quebec government to stop short of censorship by requesting prominent electronic payment systems to cease the processing of transactions of unauthorised gambling websites.  Clearly, the government does not feel this is a forceful enough measure in the current climate.
